City & Guilds Combined 2391-52 Initial Verification & Periodic Inspection & testing
Why take the City & Guilds Combined 2391-52 Initial Verification & Periodic Inspection & testing Course?
This course is aimed It is at practicing electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training before going onto other City & Guilds qualifications.
The qualification is also suitable for those with limited experience of initial inspection and periodic inspection of electrical installations, such as those entering the industry from other engineering disciplines or who have been working in allied trades
What does the qualification cover?
This qualification prepares candidates for the initial verification and periodic inspection of electrical installation work.
What opportunities for progression are there?
It allows candidates to progress into employment or to the following City & Guilds qualifications:
- Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical
Installations (2396)
- ILM Management and leadership qualifications
A 2391 qualification is currently required in order to gain your JIB grading as an approved electrician. There are initial (2391-50) and periodic (2391-51) qualifications available but you can save time and money with our combined 2391-52 course. The course has been introduced to streamline and simplify the qualifications required to carry our advanced inspection and testing. Until July 2017 most people would take a combined 2394/2395 course which required 1 online exam, 2 practical assessments and 2 written exams. This new qualification only requires 1 online multiple-choice exam, 1 written assignment, and 1 practical assessment.
Entry Requirements
Entry to both these qualifications requires you to have ‘experience and knowledge of inspection and testing.’ It is useful for you to have taken the entry-level City & Guilds 2392 Level 2 if you’re new to testing and inspection. Not mandatory, but certainly useful. Please note there are no practical elements on this course so you must already have practical experience of inspection and testing.
The 2391-52 course package is intended for people working in the electrical industry who have existing knowledge of inspection and testing but who need to complete the formal qualifications and refresh and/or upgrade their skills in initial verification, certification, periodic inspection & testing of electrical installations. All candidates must be over 18 years old.
Options? – If you do not meet the above requirements you may wish to consider our City & Guilds 2392 course
